Meriden, Connecticut
Rosalind Wright, 80, of Meriden, CT, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, after bravely facing a long illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on October 7, 1944, in Mount Vernon, New York, Rosalind was the beloved daughter of Muriel (Abbihl) Wright and Henry Richardson Wright. Throughout her life, she touched many with her warmth, loyalty, and unique sense of humor—especially those she loved most.
Known affectionately as Roz, she was a woman of deep care and quiet strength, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to experience her light. Her passing leaves a void in many hearts, but her memory will be held close, often accompanied by a fond smile.
After graduating, Roz began her career as a Medical Technician in California. She later relocated to Connecticut, where she transitioned into industrial manufacturing and spent many years as a dedicated Quality Control Inspector until her retirement.
Roz was a passionate athlete who especially loved playing softball. Her love for nature was evident in her devotion to gardening, and she often worked part-time at local nurseries. Animals were always a central part of her life—she was never without a loyal dog or cat companion. Among her many cherished relationships, she shared a special bond with 7-year-old Gia, who lovingly called her “Auntie Roz.” Together, they spent joyful days playing vet, Barbie, and running through the sprinkler—moments that brought happiness to them both.
Rosalind is survived by her sister, Katherine Wright of Kennebunk, Maine, and several cousins. She also shared her life with a loving extended family, including Cynthia Veillette, Justin Veillette, Dena Veillette, Gianna Grace Veillette, and the family cat, Sabu. Bridgette Naamon, a close friend and neighbor, was also an important part of Roz’s life—their adventures together were many and cherished.
In accordance with Roz’s wishes, a private service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
