Robert Tenbrink

–

Naugatuck, Connecticut

Robert Alex Tenbrink Sr.
Loving Husband, Father, Papa,
Brother, Uncle and Veteran

Naugatuck, Conn - Robert (Bob) Tenbrink Sr, 75, has “gone fishing” for eternity, leaving behind his beloved wife, Kathy, of 46 years who was by his side until the very end.

Bob was born in Norwalk on August 20, 1950, to the late Erminnie Souppa Lorah. Bob grew up with his little brother, Joseph, sister, Joann and late brother Arthur and father Arthur Tenbrink, in Norwalk and West Palm Beach Florida.

Robert was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and Good Conduct Medal all before being honorably discharged from the US Marine Corp on October 7, 1970.

Bob went on to work as a truck driver and mechanic for many years before retiring. During his retirement you were able to find him in the garden, on his boat in a lake, or in his woodshop where he created beautiful bird houses, benches, garden decor and so much more. Bob was a true Jack of All Trades and loved to share the knowledge he had with so many, especially his sons. He loved when his grandbabies would come visit and always had so much candy he would give to them from M&M’s to lollipops. He would collect coins and share his love for something new with his children. He would always say “the babies come first” or “learn one new thing everyday” both of these quotes are two of many quotes he shared that he not only stated but would lead by example.

In addition to Katherine (Servidas) Tenbrink, his wife of 46 years. Robert is survived by his daughters, Bobbie-Jo Acker of Naugatuck, Christy Elwell and her husband Matthew of Plymouth, Jamie-Ann Grimes and her husband Daniel of Watertown, Kassidy Almeida and her husband Joao of Watertown. His sons, Robert Tenbrink Jr and his wife Katy of Bethel, Nicholas Tenbrink and his wife Elizabeth of Carmel, New York, and Alexander Tenbrink and his wife Kylie of Thomaston. He also leaves behind his 15 soon to be 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Community Funeral Home, The Corona Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 72 Waterbury Road Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
