It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Nicholas James Andrews on July 10, 2024, at the age of 43. Born in Derby on March 2, 1981, Nicholas was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend.

Nick's love for fishing and hockey was well-known amongst those closest to him. He found peace and joy in the tranquility of nature, often spending his time by the water with a fishing rod in hand. In addition to his love for fishing and hockey, Nick was an exceptional chess player. He enjoyed challenging and surprising opponents and was always able to win over even the sorest of losers with his infectious smile.

Nicholas's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving family: his mother Tammy Ann James and sister Rose Capece-both of Prospect, his grandparents, his aunts and uncles, and numerous friends who considered him family. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and unwavering acceptance of others.

A memorial service to celebrate Nicholas's life will be held Friday August 2, 2024 at 6 P.M. at the Prospect Community Funeral Home located at 72 Waterbury Road (next to the Post Office) in Prospect, CT. Nicholas’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday August 2, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m.
