Mary Ellen Houston

Waterbury – Mary Ellen (Wilson) Houston, 82, of Waterbury died April 16, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Dennis W. Houston.

Mrs. Houston was born November 9, 1942 in New Haven daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Kilcoyne) Wilson. She was retired after working for many years as a counselor at the Independent Center and enjoyed knitting and cooking in her free time.

Mrs. Houston is survived by her daughter: Ana Houston of Bridgeport, her grandchildren: Timothy Houston, Thomas Quinones and Emma Quinones, 2 nephews and 4 nieces. She was predeceased by her sister: Barbara Anne (Wilson) Nichols, her brother in law: Irving Nichols, Jr. and her nephew: Ronald Macchiarolo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin Street Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Community Funeral Home 72 Waterbury Road (Next to the Post Office) in Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
