Joyce Allen

Hamden – Joyce A. (Massey) Allen, age 62, of Hamden passed away on October 28, 2026 at Yale New Haven Health Care St. Raphael Campus in New Haven.

Joyce was born November 7, 1963 in Waterbury daughter of the late Lynwood and Maggie (Peterson) Massey. She worked for many years as a Phlebotomist at Yale New Haven Hospital and was a member of Holy Ghost Deliverance #2 Church in New Haven. She loved attending and volunteering at her church, and nothing was more important to her than family time and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed adventure, music and dancing.

Joyce is survived by her children: Kuninsha Massey of West Haven, Lashanan Massey of Ansonia, Quatora Ogueri and her husband Kenneth of Salem, Ct., Michael Massey and his wife Kenia of New Haven and Tyrone Massey and his wife Shavonna of North Haven, her siblings: Dolores Arthur of Ga., Debra Massey of Ga., Ronald Massey of New Haven and Jamel Massey of Ga., 13 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Tasha Massey and her brother Jermaine Massey.

Joyce’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Holy Ghost Deliverance #2 Church 15 Mead Street New Haven on Thursday November 12, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven
