Arlene Dammling

–

Prospect, Connecticut

Prospect – Arlene J. (Brightman) Dammling, age 92, of Prospect
passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at Midstate Medical
Center in Meriden.

Arlene was born on September 21, 1933, in New Haven, daughter of
the late Harold and Agnes (Sweeney) Brightman. She retired after
most recently working at Stop and Shop in Waterbury and formerly
worked at Armstrong Rubber. She was an active member of the
Prospect Senior Center and the Naugatuck YMCA. She enjoyed going
on bus trips and playing BINGO. She also spent decades as a
member of a local chapter of the Red Hatters. She loved to read a
good novel, color, complete cross-stitch pictures and partake in a
good horror movie (even more so if sharks were involved). She
especially enjoyed her nightly visits with her dear friend and neighbor
Kim Holland. Her very favorite thing to do was spend time with her
family creating memories.

Arlene is survived by her daughters: Deborah Felten and her husband
Bruce of Cheshire and Donna Dammling Taddeo of Winsted, her
sister: Rosemary Gagliardi of Washington, her brother: Harold
Brightman of Florida and her 4 grandchildren: Lisa Marie Felten,
Kevin Dammling, Kayla Dammling and Kristopher Dammling. She was
predeceased by her son: Kevin Dammling and her son in law: Michael
Taddeo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In honor of Arlene’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.

The Corona Family - Community Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Arlene’s
family.
